Description: Outside view of Madawaska Club. This large, elegant residence was built in 1922 by Louis A. Dugal, a member of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick. Wilbrod Saindon took possession of the building in 1928. It was then obtained from the estate of Alma Saindon in 1956 by Madawaska Club. The Club’s owner was Charles Van Horne who was a federal minister. Madawaska Club was destroyed by fire during the night of Friday 18 and Saturday 19 in July of 1969. After the fire, it was demolished and gave way to a parking lot between Bijouterie Bernier and the Fief, past residence of Doctor Ernest A. Martin, then Doctor Louis-Philippe Pichette.
