Date: 1988(?)

Description: Aerial view of the Edmundston Municipal Airport, close to the New Brunswick-Québec border. The Lancaster KB882 airplane can be seen in the photo. It was piloted by Captain Joseph "Peppi" DiGiacinto. The plane's last flight was on July 14, 1964 and, since then, it has been parked at the airport. The airplane's patrimonial value lies in the fact that it was one of the few that was not modified. It is part of the Avro 683 Lancaster series, made in Canada between 1943 and 1945. It contributed to the destruction of military and industrial targets in Germany during the Second World War. To the right of the photo is the Trans-Canada Highway.
